Jillibean Bean Soup: A Layout and A Card

Hello! *cough*cough....I'm sorry this blog is collecting dust over the past weeks. This time, I have a good reason for my disappearing act because I was busy planning for Abby's first birthday party. It took a lot of effort and time but it was all worth it seeing all the happy faces at the party. Abby seemed to enjoyed all the attention she had on that day despite not feeling well. Alex (Josie's husband) was kind enough to be our photographer for the night and he captured some really great shots at the party which I will share here soon. For now, I will share some of my projects that were posted on the Jillibean Soup blog.

I hardly scrap about myself so when Sharon challenged us to make a layout of ourselves, I jumped on the band wagon but it took me a month to complete it. With my jam packed schedule back in December, you can't really blame me right? Lol.

I kinda love layering these days and here you can see I did some layering using journaling tag, a piece of patterned paper and a kraft tag. If you followed me long enough, you will know by now how much I love butterfly and that explains the butterfly banner on top of the photo.

Another card featuring polaroid frame that I cut out from the Soup Staples II paper called Yellow Salt. Then I backed up the frame with a piece of graph paper, embellished it with a sentiment from soup labels, twine and felt blossom. Wala....an easy card in 15 minutes!

The title on the journaling card is just perfect to create a love themed card. With some hearts sticker and a sentiment, you are ready to put a smile on your loved one's face.

Alrighty, it's time to go and you shall me soon with some photos of Abby's birthday party.

Mommy Love You

Happy Friday! Wish I could say the same to myself. Usually Friday is the busiest day of the week for me and I have to stay late in the office. Today is no exception :( I made a layout last week during my day off and I really loved it. Can you tell which brand I used? You can? How smart! Yep, I used lots of MME goodies here and also letter stickers by October Afternoon. It has been a while I made a soft layout like this and it felt like a therapy....a much needed therapy to de-stress myself....lol. This picture is my most favorite picture ever! It was candid, natural and perfect! We were at a friend's house for Abby's photoshoot which he kindly offered us. While halfway through, Abby slipped and knocked her forehead on the floor. And this baby wailed like there's no tomorrow and I had to comfort her. Luckily the cries stop shortly and while I kissed her on the cheeks, my friend clicked on his camera and captured this special moment of us. How wonderful! I hope you too love this layout. See ya!

Hello 2013!

I found this quote on Pinterest and it kinda hit me in the face. In the past few months I've had a hard time juggling between work, family and hobby. Work especially stressed me out and it took a toll on the creative department. Not to mention that time for creating is limited too when you have an active 11 months old baby demanding for your attention. The problem is, a lot of ideas are brewing inside my head and I desperately wanting to put all of them into action. It is overwhelming and frustrating.....and I ended up doing nothing. So this year I am telling myself to take it slow and don't rush things. I do have a few goals that I hope to achieve and will see what 2013 brings. One step at a time :)

What about you? Have you make any resolution this year? Or are you like me keeping things simple? I'd love to hear from you.....

xoxo
