Card Patterns and a card

Good morning! Happy Monday to you! How's your weekend? Mine was good. I didn't really craft much on Sat because I was busy cooking for HB and his family (yeah..I cook, can you believe it?? lol). Either I didn't cook for quite a while or all the recipes I know just slipped out of my brain because it took me two hours to prepare a simple meal. I really need to gear myself up in the kitchen and start to cook again. I got to learn a few lesson from my MIL. People always said the only way to reach your husband's heart is through his stomach, lol :)

After lunch and all the cleaning up, I took an afternoon nap at around 4pm. You know what time I woke up?? 7:30pm! I slept for almost 4 hours! Can you believe it? HB always said I sleep like a pig, lol :)

Today, I would like to show you the card I made for Card Patterns. I've missed their sketch for quite a while now and glad to be able to partipate this week.

Here's my card based on the sketch.

I used paper from Making Memories and Bazzill Basic. See the big flower? Isn't it pretty? Ann (my SIL) bought it while on vacation in Chieng Mai, Thailand. She told me they sell a lot of handmade flowers there but she only bought some. I add some swirly pearls on top of the flower. Just so you know, those pearls don't come in swirl. I cut them out and arranged them piece by piece. The swirly stamp are from Making Memories which Sheila gave me weeks back. What to do when you are out of certain colors? Look for your prima flowers. See the small blue butterfly? I actually cut it from Prima flower. It's very easy to cut compared to paper :)

I have one more card to show you before I call it a day.
This card is actually a Valentine's card for HB. Too early isn't it? First, I'm early with Christmas cards and now Valentine's. I'm getting addictive I guess :)
I traced the heart on a piece of white cardstock then, I add the red glitter glue from Making Memories. The glue came out in glob and I used a sponge to spread it out evenly. I add some blingy swirls and prima flowers. Those shimmery letter stickers are from Making Memories. I'm absolutely falling in love with those stickers from MM! They are so versatile and easy to use. In total, I have about 10 packets of letter stickers from MM with different colors. Love, love them!

I love pink!

Hey there! How y'all doing? I made this card yesterday. It looks simple but it took me almost 2 hours to get it done! I lost my mojo and just can't find the right stuff to put on the card. The butterfly wasn't there in the first place but when I showed the card to HB, he shaked his head and said this is way too plain. And I thought maybe I should add a butterfly instead. And tadaa...my finish card after 2 hours :)

I'm loving pink recently. So you are going to see a lot of pink cards here :) For this card, I'm using paper from October Afternoon. Flowers are from Prima, button is from Basi Grey and the ribbon is from a local gift store.

Hope you are having a fun day!

More cards for Smidapaper

Hello to you! Don't you just love Saturday? It's my favourite day of the week! HB and his friends planning to have seafood tonight. We are going out anytime soon :) But first, let me share the cards I made for Smidapaper.

The papers are from October Afternoon. Don't you just love the fun and bright colors? That's why October Afternoon is my favourite brand :)

The sticker flowers are from Sassfrass.

That's all for today! Hope you have a great weekend!

Full Reveal

Hello! Happy Friday to you! Do you still remember the sneak peak I showed you last week? Well, as promised, here's the full reveal! This is my first DT card for Smidapaper. I know I showed you two sneak peaks but I wasn't really happy with the photo quality, so I can only show you one . Sheila wanted me to create cards using the Making memories wedding paper and I managed to create 3 cards out of it. I will show you the other two cards in another post when I have good pictures of them.

I really love this wedding paper by Making Memories. They are so pretty and elegant. The silhouette bride were hand cut and paper pieced (i {heart} paper piecing). The 'headband' reminded me of Cinderella though...lol :) The ribbon and chipboard are from my craft supplies which I bought them from a local craft store.

Thanks for the lovely comments you sweet people left me! I feel so loved! Hugs!

Laura's Sketch 30 - Home

Yeay...it's Wednesday already! How excited! I've missed 2S4Y for quite a while now and I tought I should play along this week. I bought the Fancy Pants die cuts while I was in KL last month. My good friend just recently bought a house (just a couple of units away from me...hooray!!) and I wanted to make a card for her. The die cuts came in handy. There are houses and trees in it. So stinking cute!

Saw the header at 2S4Y? Spot the similarity?? Hehe...I didn't realized that the die cuts I bought were the same as the header though I thought they look familiar. Only when I check 2S4Y blog that I realized they were the same :) I changed the sketch to the left and this is what I came out with......

The clouds were hand cut from Sassfrass paper, the bird from black cardstock, and the grass from Scenic Route paper. The chiipboard stickers are from American Crafts. Oh yeah...the blue patterned paper is from Crate Paper.

I hope you are enjoying whatever you are doing today! Have a fun day!

Go Green!

Good morning my friend! I know I'd been a real bad girl for not posting anything for a few days. But I promise I will not dissappoint you this week. I've been quite productive over the weekends as I'd created a few cards for Smidapaper. BUT I can't show them to you yet, maybe in another day or two (be patient with me ya!)

In the meantime, I'll show you what I did for the 'It's All Green' challenge by Moxie Fab World. I love this blog so much! Besides the fabulous prizes, I'm amazed by the amount of beautiful photos showcased there. So inspirational! Don't know what I'm talking about? Hop on here and find out yourself.

Sheila know that I've been wanting the Kraft cardstock and is kind enough to give me one. I've been searching it high and low for months! Seems like Kraft cardstock is not that popular here (or too popular until out of stock? I don't know) The PP and letter stickers are from October Afternoon (I {heart}). I wanted to make a green house but didn't really know how a green house should look like. So, I thought of a tree. Hope, it's not weird to stick a tree on the house (you wouldn't want a tree to stick out from your house like that..lol). Besides ribbons, I love jute string too. And stitching of course. In short, all my favourites are shown in this card :)

It's a green house...can you tell?? :)

Up close of my hand cut tree.

Thanks for stopping here! And I want you to know that I love reading all your wonderful comments! It lights up my day! Hugs!

Cupcake from my SIL

Happy Wednesday, yo! I have something to share with you today. No, this time it's not about my cards. Ann (my SIL) just recently got her 1st cup cake order from a co-worker. No doubt, she was very anxious and excited about it. She even told me that she can't sleep...lol (can't blame her).

However, she'd done a very good job as a first timer I would say. Well, I don't usually compliment her cakes but this time I do :) She created 24 cupcakes with different animal/small creature topper on it. They are so cute! She even created butterflies. I do not have a picture of the whole cupcakes but I do have two pictures to show you (she's kind enough to keep 4 for me)

The bettle cupcake

The teddy bear cupcake

Oh yeah, I went to collect the stuff from Sheila (owner of SmidaPaper) yesterday. They are so fabulous and can't wait to get started! Stay tune!

Let It Snow

Happy Monday to you! How's your weekend? Was it good?? I went to watch the Transformers 2 with my family yesterday (finally). Although, I'm not a fan of the Transformers 2 cartoon but I must say that the movie is really really good! It is full packed with action from beginning till the end and Shia Labeouf is so freaking hot! (omg...did I just said he's hot??). You know, I never really like him especially in Indiana Jones but his acting in the latest Transformers movie really grows on me. And Megan Fox is so SEXY! But her acting was not as good. IMO, she's just another beautiful face in Hollywood :) And Josh Duhamel is such a hottie!! (lucky Fergie). Oh yeah...my eyes were watery when Optimus Prime and Sam sort of got killed in the movie (why sort of? go watch the movie and you'll know). All in all, Transformers 2 it's the best movie in 2009!

Today, I'd like to share a X'mas Card I made over the weekend. I realized that I always use either green or red on my X'mas cards and I wanted to make something out of my norm. I thought why not make a X'mas card using non-traditional color? The moment I saw the October Afternoon PP, I immediately knew my choice of color. Yes, it's PINK! I made everything pink...from the paper to the snowflake (you've seen a pink snowflake before??..lol) I traced the snowflake on a white cardstock and cut it out. Then, I paint it with pink crackle paint and finish it off with stickles. I then add a button and sentiments on it....and voila, my 1st pink snowflake! I did another backstich here and add a lace ribbon.

Close-up of my pink snowflake :)

It's only Monday and I hope you'll have a great week ahead!

Hello Friend

Happy Friday to you! I have a good news to share with you today! Last week, I received an email from Sheila (owner of SmidaPaper) and she asked whether I'm interested to be in her design team. Oh boy, do I jump at the opportunity?? You bet I do!! Without further thinking, I just replied her YES! Sheila will provide me the kits and I will start as soon as I got the stuff from her. Stay tune!

I have another card to share today. All the stuff except the button, twine, letter stickers are from Sassafrass Lass. Isn't that journaling sticker stinking cute?? (I {heart} it). I adhered the sticker on a piece of brown cardstock and cut according to the scallop edge. Oh yeah...I did my first backstitch on this card. If you follow my blog, you'll know how much I like to stitch on almost every card I made. So, I thought I will incorporate some embroidery stitch on my cards. The first would be the backstitch. It's so easy peasy to do and it instantly pretty up my card :). Can you see it? On another note, did you notice that one of the kangaroo hand is tucked in its pocket?? I only realized it when I saw the pic. How cute :)

That's all I have for today! Hope you have great weekend! Yes, tomorrow is Saturday!

2S4Y Sketch - Happy Birthday

Good Morning! How's your weather over there? It's not very bright over here as it rained yesterday night but I'm pretty sure it will be hot again in the afternoon. It's always like that.

You know what? I was on my way back from work yesterday when I saw an accident right in front of me! Well, maybe not exactly right in front as I was about 10 cars away from the scene. But I saw the van sort of like swerved to the side of the road and bang on something and I was like "Oh my God...did it hit anyone?". The cars in front of me suddenly come to a halt and luckily I'm able to stop in time too. When I passed the scene only I know what the van hit or what hit the van. The accident involved a van, a bus and two vehicles. The bus look ok to me but the van and the cars are not. Luckily, no one is injured (phew!)

I just finished a card for 2S4Y. I tell you, this blog is getting better and better. So much fun especially with their card showdown! The competitions are tough and I can't wait to see who will walk away with the grand prize! Good luck to the 5 talented ladies (wink)

I flipped the sketch and make it horizontal and for this card, I used the Making Memories pp that I bought last week. The journaling block was a stamp from Prima and I stamped it on a pink cardstock. The leaves were cut out from Crate Paper pp. Brads and letter stickers were from Making Memories while the flowers were from Prima.
That's it for me today and happy Wednesday to you!
