CARDS May 2013 issue

Hello! It's been a while since I've shared my published cards here and honestly I've almost forgotten about it. I have not been very active in making cards as I used to be and I hope one day I shall get back into the groove. So right now I only have these to share which some of you might have already seen it before I removed it from the blog.

You may not know but these cards had gone through some issues before they were published. Originally these cards were accepted for the Cards January issue but somehow they weren't collected from the post office. I had a shock when Paige emailed to tell me that my cards were never arrive in their office. Luckily I sent them with a tracking number and a quick check showed that a notice was already left in their office and obviously no one has pick them up. Then I sent Paige an email with the tracking status and true enough they found the notice in their office. I was a bit upset that my cards were left in the post office for months and that I already missed the publication. However, Paige was apologetic and was kind enough to publish my cards in their May 2013 issue.

Random

Hello! Glad to be back to this humble blog. Lately, I was feeling a bit unwell and all my scrapping and blogging has been put behind. But today I thought of pop in quickly to share some of the project that I've done a while back.

This was created for Crate Paper's creative weekly challenge and it got featured on CP blog weeks ago. The challenge was about polka dots and so I created a polka dots background for my layered photos. What makes this challenge extra special is that a few of my fellow crafters from Malaysia were also featured on the blog. Way to go ladies!

Next up is a layout for Jillibean Soup. Can you spot the new Happy Camper Stew paper? Love it!

Lastly a simple card for Jillibean Soup. Gotta admit that I love this card a lot!

Jillibean Soup: Hi Sunshine

Hello! Just wanted to pop in quickly to share a little sunshine card that I created for Jillibean Soup. A very quick and simple card that I created under 15mins. To set things straight, this doesn't happen very often but when it does it makes me very happy. Don't you just love the corrugated cloud and the sun peeking behind it. To make the design more interesting, I just had to add the polka dots heart. Love!

Jillibean Soup: Special Delivery XOXO

I'm still pretty much in love with the Chilled Cucumber Soup paper! No, not I'm getting bored yet. Are you? Today, I'm sharing a simple card made with my favorite paper and some die-cut from the Irish Farmhouse Soup and a vintage ephemera. I stamped the xoxo with Versa Fine ink in Sepia and finished off the card with hearts banner. Aren't those tiny hearts the cutest thing? Josie was kind enough to cut them for me :)

Before I go, I have something exciting to share on the 5th (6th in Malaysian time) and please come again. You would want to find out what it's all about!

Jillibean Soup: Just For You

I kinda lost touch with stamping ever since I started scrapbooking and when I received these stamps from Jillibean Soup, I re-discovered my inky self. Really, it has been a while since I used stamps on my project and it felt fresh to be able to use one on my card. For some reason, I really like this card. I hope you do too :) It's based on Kimber's sketch and it can be found on Jillibean Soup blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

Jillibean Soup: Hello There!

June is going to be a fun and exciting month because Josie and I have an upcoming project that I just can't share yet. It's a big scale project if you ask me because it's the first time we are doing this and we are really excited about it. Wish us luck!

Now I just can't leave you without sharing anything, can I? No. Here's a card I made based on Kimber's sketch that can be found here. I had so much fun working with Kimber's sketch and always look forward at how the rest of the DT interpreted her sketch. They were different but fabulous in every way! This time, I followed the sketch loosely and used the banners from the sketch as my starting point. Instead of creating banners again, I decided to wrap my card with the colorful baker twine from Jillibean Soup. I realized that I have never use most of the twine that Jillibean Soup sent me so I made a point to use them this time. Consider this as stepping out of my comfort zone :)

Jillibean Soup: Wishes Card

Hello there! I'm back again with another card to share. I'm happy whenever I get the chance to post regularly but having a full time job and a baby to care for, this blog of mine is often being neglected. Poor thing. I'm working on it though....I have a lot of crafty ideas that I wanted to share with you but needed the time to do so....please hang in there with me.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Irish Farmhouse collection by Jillibean Soup! Have I said that already? Opps...but I needed to say it one more time! Lol. Thanks to the die cuts, this card came together pretty quickly and it saves me a lot of time. Love it when that happens.

Have a great day my beautiful friends!

Layouts And A Card For Jillibean Soup

Happy Friday everyone! I have a few projects up on the Jillibean Soup blog that I have not share it here yet and here they are.....

I absolutely love the latticework Placemat, it's especially useful for those who don't own a silhouette. They come in 12x12, you can choose to work with the entire sheet or trim it down just like I did on this layout. Jill aka The Big Bean gave us a challenge back in March to use as many products as possible on a layout without looking too crowded. I decided that the Placemat is the perfect candidate to showcase papers from 4 different collections. I started by tracing the latticework pattern on several papers, trimmed and adhered them on the Placemat, leaving some of those blank  because I like it that way :) The next products I love by Jillibean Soup are their alpha stickers. Absolutely LOVE! Here you can see I used 6 different alpha types (including Wise Words) to create the title. This photo of me and Jessy was taken back in November 2012 when she and her husband, Eric visited us. She was pregnant at that time and now her baby is already 2 months old. Time is flying by pretty quick!

No doubt, I'm white space lover. I can't seem to fill my entire page with embellishment or paper and have to have some empty space here and there. It's just my style. So this layout is a perfect example of what my true style is. Clean and simple :) Love this photo of my daughter and my MIL....the title says it all, she is truly my MIL's sunshine :)

Lastly, a card I made with my favorite collection, the Chilled Cucumber Soup. I almost used up some of the paper from this pretty collection...just can't help it. This card was made based on a sketch by Kimber. I love Kimber's style and her sketch is so wonderful to work with!

Thanks for stopping by!

Jillibean Soup: Dad Card

TGIF! Weekend is upon us and do you have anything plan out yet? Me? Not so much....just hope to spend some quality time with Abby. We've been out and about almost every weekend and as a mama I felt bad to have mess up with her nap schedules. Anyway, I have a Jillibean Soup card to share today. It was an origami shirt and tie. Trust me, it's not as complicated as it looked.....you just need a bone folder and a bit of patience :)

Jillibean Soup: Friendship Card

It's only March and already 2013 is a tough year to begin with. It felt like a roller coaster ride with lots of ups and downs as well as some shocking ones. Life is just unpredictable and when you thought you have everything figure out, the truth is you were just fooling yourselves. I've had my fair share of life experience and one thing I've learned from this is I'm actually a strong person. Not physically strong but mentally strong. I was thrown back with news that are so bad that I never imagined I could ever face it but I did....and I did it with positive attitude. I never knew I had this in me....at least not until now. I've come to realized a lot of things in life and one thing for sure is to appreciate things or people around you. Never for once take them for granted especially family and friends. I came across this quote when I started cardmaking and I take it to heart "When Life Gives You Lemon, Make Lemonade".

Enough of my ramblings and let's move on to something cheerful, a card maybe? Lol. I was pretty stoked when the mail man delivered my pizza box that was filled to the brim with Jillibean Soup new CHA collection. I have been waiting for it for so long and it felt surreal to have the products lying right before my eyes. Awesome! My favorite collection has to be Chilled Cucumber Soup. The colors and patterns are so beautiful....so much so that I'm a bit reluctant to use them. But since I have DT assignment to fulfill, I make pretty project out of them. First up is a card using mainly Chilled Cucumber Soup. You can head on over to the blog for more details.

Have great day ahead!

Jillibean Soup: Feb projects

TGIF! I have a card and a layout to share with you today....

A very simple yet masculine card using pea pod parts from the Macho Nacho Soup collection. I love how the products are named after soup.....but they also create a problem for me when I work on my project way past midnight....they make me hungry! Lol.

At a glance, one would quickly think that these photos were taken at the same time but the truth is they were taken at five years apart. The one on the left was from 2008 and the one on the right was taken earlier this year. Thanks to the sunglasses that hide our "changes". I am pretty sure if we take off our sunglasses, you are able to tell which is the old and which is the new photo. Anyways, bakc to the layout....if you wish to know more of the supplies used, you can always check out Jillibean Soup blog. There are tons, and I mean tons of daily inspiration to keep you going.

Alrighty...that's all I have for today. If you don't see me dropping by your blog to say hi this week, I'm sorry. I promise you will see me again next week. Have a great weekend!

Jillibean Soup: Friendship card and Happy Chinese New Year

Hello! Oh my, what a busy week it has been! With Chinese New Year celebration just right around the corner, I merely have time to blog. My project life is so behind that I don't even want to think about it. Lucky thing is I don't do it week by week....I only do whenever I have special moments that I want to capture so that it doesn't stress me out. I had a stressful week already....just yesterday I received a call from Abby's doctor. She had a fever and a mild diarrhea so my husbnad brought her to see a doctor. She called me on my cell phone to deliver news that every mother dreaded to hear....."I checked your daughter and I found out that she has irregular heartbeat". My world turned upside down for a moment and I was shaking. She then referred us to a specialist for a cardiac assessment to make sure that her heartbeat is normal. So we went and waited for almost 2 hours and THANK GOD she is normal. No irregular heartbeat. And everything is fine. Just what I wanted to hear. But her fever has not subsided and we are monitoring her from time to time. She has gone a bit cranky and she knows she has power upon us. But I let her be.....she has the privilege when she's sick :)

I am so rushing for time but just thought I should pop in here quickly to share a card I made for Jillibean Soup. I must say this is one of my favorite card....must be the color I think. You can visit the blog for more details.

To all my friends who are celebrating Chinese New Year, I want to wish you Gong Xi Fatt Chai and this year brings you health and happiness. They are more important than wealth right? Lol....

Jillibean Bean Soup: A Layout and A Card

Hello! *cough*cough....I'm sorry this blog is collecting dust over the past weeks. This time, I have a good reason for my disappearing act because I was busy planning for Abby's first birthday party. It took a lot of effort and time but it was all worth it seeing all the happy faces at the party. Abby seemed to enjoyed all the attention she had on that day despite not feeling well. Alex (Josie's husband) was kind enough to be our photographer for the night and he captured some really great shots at the party which I will share here soon. For now, I will share some of my projects that were posted on the Jillibean Soup blog.

I hardly scrap about myself so when Sharon challenged us to make a layout of ourselves, I jumped on the band wagon but it took me a month to complete it. With my jam packed schedule back in December, you can't really blame me right? Lol.

I kinda love layering these days and here you can see I did some layering using journaling tag, a piece of patterned paper and a kraft tag. If you followed me long enough, you will know by now how much I love butterfly and that explains the butterfly banner on top of the photo.

Another card featuring polaroid frame that I cut out from the Soup Staples II paper called Yellow Salt. Then I backed up the frame with a piece of graph paper, embellished it with a sentiment from soup labels, twine and felt blossom. Wala....an easy card in 15 minutes!

The title on the journaling card is just perfect to create a love themed card. With some hearts sticker and a sentiment, you are ready to put a smile on your loved one's face.

Alrighty, it's time to go and you shall me soon with some photos of Abby's birthday party.

Merry Merry Christmas To You!!!

I know I am three days late but still I want to wish you "Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays"! Here is a card I made almost a month ago and honestly this year I suck at making Christmas cards. I was so behind in everything! Next year, I hope to have a better planning system and make sure that I stick with it. You know me and discipline doesn't always get along well :)

So how did you celebrate your Chirstmas? As for me, besides getting sick on Christmas Eve.....it had been a simple and quiet celebration for us. On Christmas Eve, I brought Abby to Straits Quay for dinner and we went for a walk around the court after that. In the middle of the court, stood a huge Christmas tree decorated with gold ornaments and lights. It was such a beautiful sight and Abby seemed to enjoy it. Before we left the place, I had to snap a picture of us. Too bad this baby look dazed in the picture....it's seems hard to get a perfect picture of her these days. Oh well.

Oh, I had a spa date with my bestie on Christmas eve too. It was fun and we both had a good laugh when we had to share a bath tub together.....lol. Before heading to the jacuzzi pool, we managed to sneak a picture donning the sarong...lol.

Thanks for stopping by! Great weekend ahead, peeps!

Jillibean Soup: Holiday Blessing Card ♥

Hello everyone! Five more days to go before Christmas and are you ready for the holiday season? Presents wrap? Cards sent? If you answered no to all these questions then, my friend, you are not alone :)

I just love the colors from the Winter Tortellini collection by Jillibean Soup. I always love to create Christmas cards using non traditional colors especially blue and pink. When I saw the letter stickers, I immediately knew what to do with them and it was fun! If you have a lot of unused stickers and looking for a better way to use them, how about stick them on your card like you would with patterned paper. Before I go, do make sure you check out the Jillibean Soup blog for all the Christmas inspired projects that the DT had designed. They were awesome!

Jillibean Soup: Happy Birthday Card

Hello everyone! I have been busy busy busy preparing for our second craft fair that is happening on this weekend. Though the stress level is not as high as the first, but the amount of work put into preparing for the fair is equally same. Meanwhile, I look forward to meet more new people and manning the stall with Josie again ♥

Today I have a card up on Jillibean Soup blog using the Grandma's Lima Bean Soup and Soup Staples II paper. I love the versatility of the Soup Staples II paper because its polka dots and chevron pattern seems to work well with any paper. I've choose to create a masculine card because I find that the dude is often being left out when it comes to cardmaking, don't you agree? Speech bubble has becoming a fast trend in paper crafting world and thought it would be perfect to incorporate this trend into my card.

That's all I have for today and don't forget to visit Jillibean Soup blog for more card ideas. Warning: you are going to be heavily inspire by the DT...lol :)

First Jillibean Soup Project ♥

My first Jillibean Soup project is up on the blog. Please head on over there to check out the fabulous cards created by the rest oft the Design Team. A very simple card using some of my favorite elements such butterfly and banner.

This card was featured on the Jillibean Soup last week as part of the DT introduction. I created the background by cutting patterned paper into strips, then randomly weaved and sewed them together.  I seem to have a thing for weaved background as this is the third project I've made with this pattern. More to follow :)

Hello October ♥

Hello October - you've come to soon and I am not sure if I am ready to welcome you. Too many happenings this month and I have never been as crazily busy as I am right now. But I am crazily excited all the same time. I was super stoked when I received an email from Lisa Truesdell asking if I would be interested to create a card for Studio Calico blog in conjunction with WCMD. Of course I said yes! My challenge was to create a card in 15 minutes or less and you can see the post here. I used a lot of MME The Sweetest Thing collection here ♥

Cards For Scrappin Studio

I have two cards to share today. Both are made for Scrappin Studio blog using the Studio Calico September kit called Central High and add-on 1 called Style Guide. If you are interested in any of the kit, please visit Scrappin Studio store.

Honestly I love most of the pattern paper in this month's kit. Some are just too beautiful that I feel like hoarding them. Can I? Both cards are a bit different from each other to reflect how a simple use of pattern paper can create completely two different styles.

Do come back for more Scrappin Studio projects!

Hello

I only realized that this card that I made for Scrappin Studio was not posted on my blog yet. Super forgetful I am! My memory has gone from bad to worst since I gave birth to Abby earlier this year. There were a couple of times where I completely forgotten about turning off the stove or where I put my car key.  Sometimes I even forget what I had for lunch. Bad right? I know.
