Lullaby

This page was created for Scrappin Studio using the Studio Calico July kit and it's my last project for the month of July. My next assignment would be in September. If you ever noticed, I love to add faux stitch to both my cards and scrapbook page. Of course the main reason is I don't have a sewing machine so the next available and reliable tool to go for would be my tracing wheel. I also created a very short tutorial for Scrappin Studio blog and thought I will share it here with you today.

All you need is a tracing wheel which you can get from a sewing store and an ink of your choice. I usually use either black or dark brown. Am too chicken to try other colors.....

First, ink your wheel a couple times on your ink pad......

Next, roll your tracing wheel onto your project. It could be on anything. Letter stickers (as shown below), borders, etc........

Voila, faux stitch in under one minute ♥

She is 6 months old

She is getting feisty
She smiles a lot
She cries a lot too
She started solid and is doing well so far
She can't fit in some of her clothes
She has more hair now
She still grabs at everything and anything
She talks a lot
She almost roll out of the bed once
She can sit momentarily without support
She shows sign of wanting to crawl

That's my baby at six months

Design for Scrappin Studio

A few weeks ago, I received an email from Jaime, the owner of Scrappin Studio asking if I would be interested to be in her design team. To say I was thrill is an understatement! If you don't already know, Scrappin Studio is a local online store that sells Studio Calico's monthly kit. Yep, you heard me alright. Studio Calico monthly kit sold locally :) Now you know how crazily in love I am with Studio Calico kits and to get to work with the kits for three months is absolutely a dream come true :) My term starts this month and I get to play with Elmwood Park (main kit) and Four Square (add-on kit). This is my first page of the month....

This page was created with combination of both kits but mostly the main kit. Currently, I have this thing for negative die cuts/punch outs and if you noticed, I add them almost on every of my recent projects. They are what I considered trendy right now. Too bad I don't own a cameo....otherwise I would die cut anything and everything to fill my page.....no kidding :) I cut five pieces of paper in random sizes and punch little hearts through them. Love! ♥ I am working on my second page right now and will share it here soon.

Meanwhile, do check out Scrappin Studio store here and their blog here.

Thinking Of You ♥

nothing much to share today except for a card I made a while ago
♥ playing with washi tape again...and yes I have a serious washi tape addiction....I don't see myself ever recover, at least not so soon :)
♥ staples can be a great accent on any project...at least for me. I know people who don't craft find it weird that I add staples on my card.
♥ the only tool that I make full use of is my tracing wheel
♥ I have some happy news to share soon :)

Enjoy ♥

Two post in a day! Come on....I deserves a pat on the back, don't I? I made this card weeks ago and was supposed to blog about it but completely forgotten. So here it is.

everything on this card is my favorite....washi tape, butterfly, flair badge, jute twine, staples, arrows  and of course beautiful paper by Studio Calico
 I love graphics.....I really do
I love Studio Calico.....I really, really do
I love washi tape.....I really, really, really do....lol
looking at this card, I realized my style has evolved yet

again....as I said, I love graphics and  this style truly speaks to me right now.....what you think?
and it explains why I love Studio Calico so much

@5Months ♥

She turned 5 months last week. I was looking through pictures  I took of her since the first day she was born and I could see how much she has grown. Those first few weeks of being a new mother was still fresh in my memory. Back then I had no clue why my newborn had to suck every two hours or so and some sessions could last for hours (at least four). I was exhausted and puzzled. I had baby blues too and thank God it went away after the first month. Fast forward five months and while being a mother is a life time job with huge, huge responsibility....I would still tell you that I love my job! Ask me again when she turns one year old...lol :)

What's new @ 22 weeks:
she's super loud now especially when she don't get what she wanted...she will scream with big tears trickled down her cheeks...seriously where did she learn this from
she's very good in doing the roll thing in which my bed is no longer a safe place to leave her unsupervised
she gets very, very distracted if she hears someone talks while I am nursing her....what an inquisitive little baby
super active and kicking is her hobby
she will laughs out loud if something amuse her such as her mother's silly face....lol
loves to rub her face...whether she's hot, sleepy or angry
doens't want bottle when night falls....no kidding...she can't be tricked either
she grabs at everything and put into her mouth
I have at least a few strands of hair pulled off by her every day

We are finally going for our first trip next week. The first was cancelled. I am usually travel smart when it comes to packing but with a baby in tow, the list of stuff to bring is so overwhelming. I am talking about liquid detergent, breast pump, unlimited supplies of diapers....and the list goes on. Seriously, does anyone even put liquid detergent in their luggage? Luckily we are driving so don't you worry that I might get myself into trouble with immigration officer for suspicion of terrorist act...lol.

Instagram Summer Blog Hop ♥

Photobucket

I love Insatagram! Who doesn't? I love it even before I own an iphone. You could have guess correctly which apps I installed first when I got the phone. Instagram of course!Besides the fact I can share pictures with my friends in an instant, I also love their filters. When Jessy (who is both my craft and Instagram buddy) invited me to join the Instagram Summer Blog Hop, I don't need to think twice. I love taking pictures of my baby girl with Instagram and sometimes sneak of my project. If you don't already install this fabulous app, you should do it now. You will love it for sure :)

So what's a blog hop without a giveaway right? I am going to give away a mini book kit which I put together specially just for you. It's my first time and I had so much making them. Hope the winner will love it too. The size of the mini is 4.5"x6"....just perfect for your instagram pictures or use it for your Project Life. You can add more pages as you progress.

I include some of my handmade embellishments into the kit such as the fabric flower and velvet bow. The flower is made of fabric paper by Amy Tangerine. Love :) Flair badges and washi tape are in trend right now so I had to include them too.

I always have a penchant for beautiful packaging and when I have the opportunity to create one, I jumped at it (literally...lol)

All wrapped up and ready to ship when I select the winner after the hop.

You must be wondering how to play along, right? Very simple. All you need to do is be a follower and leave a comment here. The hop starts on 14th June and ends on 17th June. Go on and visit all the particpated links below for a greater chance to win. And don't forget to spread the words around.

Together ♥

Have you ever been caught in a situation where you have so many thoughts to share but just don't know which to share first? It happened to me all the time! I have a lot to write about but as my fingers touch the keyboard, my mind just went blank. As blank as a piece of white paper. Or when I wrote halfway, it hit a road block. Does it ever happen to you? Probably I'm not an essay kinda person. I know some people can write beautifully and I was truly inspired by them. But when it's my turn to write....disaster strike. I know I can't be like those people and I have to find a way that works for me. So, instead of an essay kinda post, I decided to write in  point form. That's it! I found the perfect way to do it and I will do it with .....lol :)

I fell head over heels in love with washi tape! Don't be surprise if you see washi tape on every of my project. Can't blame me....they are too pretty to just let them sit in the drawer
I love my new heart punches by EK Success
*GASP* I am out of twine!!!
I need to change my wardrobe! It's too dull. Seriously! I used to think that black, brown and grey are cool....they are still cool mind you but I think a splash of yellow, green or maybe pink isn't that bad
We are bringing Abby on a trip next week. Woohoo! Who knows....we might meet up with this talented friend if time permits
Something fun and hoppy is coming up next week. Stay tuned and you sure won't want to miss it
THANK YOU for making this blog feeling "alive" with your lovely comments!

My Little Angel ♥

Abby turned four months this week and too see how much she has progressed just amazed me. I took pictures of her almost everyday mostly with my camera phone (ohhh....what would I do without my camera phone....lol). I'm certainly not good at taking pictures with my chuncky DSLR camera and am still learning about angles, lightning and stuff. So a camera phone + Instagram is a quick fix to my problem. These were taken when she was 15th weeks. The headband was a gift from a friend and I adorned it with a crocheted flower by Maya Road.

What's new @ 18th weeks:
- woke up at least three times every night (she used to wake up only once or twice)
- loves to suck her fingers
- she's learning to grab her leg and moved it towards her face.....soon they will reach for her mouth for sure
- she's very active and very loud too
- she gets distracted easily while nursing....often turned her head away and stretched out her body like a small turtle.....lol
- she's starting to recognized us and become much more aware of strangers......her face will turn serious as if she's studying them
- she always look down or at the side when sitting upright

Love this baby to bits! Hubby is coming home soon.....he misses his baby girl so much. Can't wait to see how Abby communicates with her papa :)

More Layouts

I have been rushing to finish my work but I wanted to pop in here quickly just to share what I've made recently. The first layout featured the May's Studio Calico kit, 35mm. I have seen arrows everywhere and I love it. So I incorporated arrows onto my layout and still love it!

In case you wonder why my titles are crooked, I will tell you to blame it on my photography skill. I had spend hours to get the picture right but always ended up with crooked picture. It's frustrating and I give up on picture perfect. Anyone has any tip on photographing layout, please do share it with me. I needed one so badly!

I have not one but two layouts to share today. I love chevron!! Can you tell? Lol :)

"Heart" That Smile

Apparently yellow has taken the spot of being my current favorite color. Yes, I've seen yellow everywhere and I even wanting to fill my wardrobe with this sunshine-y color. Coming from a girl who only wore neutral color clothing sounds surprising right? I was contemplating whether to use the yellow chevron paper by Amy Tangerine because it's the only yellow chevron I've had in my stash and it is too precious. I figured if only use a small piece, I could still save the rest :) So I went ahead and create a layout inspired by my favorite color. After I uploaded the picture from my camera only I noticed something is missing........journaling. How forgetful I am!

Abby was barely five days old when I took this picture and already she knows how to melt her mama's heart with her warm smile. Love her to bits!

Smile Baby

This little baby smiles a lot these days and it makes her mama very happy. Her eyes light up so beautifully when she smile and I look forward to going home everyday just so I can cuddle my baby again. I take pictures of her almost every day because she seems to grow too fast! I want to capture all these special moments of her and being able to reminisce them for many years to come.

What's New - @13th weeks:
- she's always happy and smiling
- she only cries when she's tired or hungry
- enjoy her playtime before goes to bed
- wake up smiling at her mama every morning
- knows how to roll to her side and onto her belly
- try to lifts up her head when lying down
- loves watching tv
- choose to bite her hands over a pacifier
- she's very active and kicks a lot.....she kicked me a few times in the stomach and boy it does hurt....lol.

I know I've said it before but I want to say it again....being a mom is wonderful!

I Made A Card!

I have been so busy both at work and at home but I managed to sneak in some time for crafting. So, I made a card :) It's been too long since I make any cards. I thought I was going to give up this wonderful hobby after having a baby but I guess NOT. Once a crafter, forever a crafter :)

You Are My Little Lady

When I was pregnant, I took a long break from crafting and most of my creative acts were put on hold but now I jumped back on the band wagon. It felt so good to create again! So here's a first simple layout I did of my daughter. She was 10 weeks old when this picture was taken and now she's almost 12 weeks old. Time flown and it feels just like it was only yesterday that we took her back from the hospital. When I look at this picture, she has grown so much and so fast. She smiles a lot these days and it just melts my heart! What a darling she is! I want the picture to be the main focus so I kept the design simple and embellishments to minimal.

Stay tuned as I'm working on another layout :)

Baby Abigail

Being a mother is a wonderful thing that ever happen to me and I cannot imagine life without my daughter. Two months had passed and I enjoy motherhood so much. Even when I was sleep deprived since the day she was born......I couldn't be more blessed and happy. Even when I had a rough start, I learned to be patience and as the day gone by.....I became much more confident in caring for her. All the tiredness are gone when she look at me with her big eyes and smile. It's the best thing in the world and I would not trade it for anything. No no. My baby....I love you so much!
